There are hundreds of bells in churches looked after by the Churches Conservation Trust. In this talk, bell ringer David Bagley will describe how they are hung, how they are rung, and how they are used.
David Bagley has been an active church bell ringer since 1977 and has rung the bells at over 1500 different churches.
He lives in Tewkesbury on the Worcestershire Gloucestershire border and normally rings the bells at one of the country’s finest parish churches at Tewkesbury Abbey. However, since 1997, he has also been involved at the Churches Conservation Trust church at Strensham, looking after the bells which hare mainly used for teaching purposes.
